The shaper picks a foam blank. The measurements are put on the bottom of the blank: the board will be 9' 2" in. The stringer is marked 12" down from the nose and 12" up from the tail. A mark is put an inch forward from center. The nose width is marked by putting a dot 9" out from each side of the stringer at the 12" mark. The middle is marked by putting a dot 11" out from each side of the stringer at the middle mark. The tail is marked by putting a dot 7" out from each side of the stringer at the 12-in. mark.
