Pauline Menczer finishes second in 2001 Billabong Girls
Maui, Hawaii, December 3, 2001: Pauline Menczer took second place in the Billabong Pro held at Honolua Bay and earned a seed into the 2002 WCT. With the European leg of the ASP tour canceled due to the September 11 terrorist attack, Menczer entered the 2001 Billabong Girls knowing that she had to do exceptionally well to qualify for the 2002 WCT tour.
Menczer will return to California for an extended stay to work with her shapers at Stickman and prepare for the 2002 season.
From its humble beginnings, Stickman has been dedicated to producing surfboards of the highest quality. The philosophy is simple: (1) use only experienced shapers who surf regularly; (2) maintain strict control over the glassing; (3) approach the design and manufacturing process with dedication and academic discipline by incorporating sound principals of physics and engineering; (4) use only the best materials; and (5) maintain an exceptionally qualified surfing team to develop and test new ideas.
Today, Stickman LLC is a surfboard and clothing manufacturing company with worldwide distribution. The surfboard factory is located next to the old Greg Noll shop in the historic surfing town of Hermosa Beach, California. The clothing is designed to express the spirit behind surfing.
