Pauline Menczer crowned 2000 O'Neil Cold Water Classic Champion.
Los Angeles, California, February 20, 2000: Pauline Menczer wins the 2000 O'Neil Cold Water Classic in Santa Cruz, California. Menczer beat 70 woman in the contest and became the winner of the first ASP event of the year. Dominating the early rounds of the event, she eventually ousted fellow Aussie Kate Skarrat in the frigid 51 degree Northern California water.
"I was feeling really good out there. My new boards were working exceptionally well, and everything fell into place" said Menczer. With two new sponsors, Stickgirl Surfboards and Blink Swim Ware, Menczer has a new found enthusiasm for the sport that made her famous, and will be a force to reckon with in 2000.
